Phil Lawrence plays all different styles of music: bluegrass, folk, rock, jazz, reggae, and even klezmer. He produces independent recordings of his original compositions. In 2004 worked with David Grisman as an assistant instructor at The Mandolin Symposium where he performed on stage with Chris Thile. He performs with It's A Beautiful Day Acoustic, featuring David LaFlamme on violin.
